First of all, many congratulations on getting engaged!
You may well now be asking: can I get married in the Chapel at Lincoln?
Yes! Lincoln College Chapel may be used for the weddings of Alumni in accordance with the rules of the special licence, granted entirely at the Archbishop of Canterbury's discretion. Licences are normally granted if you are a student, a former student, a member of staff (teaching or non-teaching) in the College. There must be an existing or continuous relationship with the College. The Chaplain can offer detailed guidance on these and on other formalities concerning weddings and blessing services in the Chapel.
If you would like to explore this further, please contact the Development Office in the first instance to discuss dates and procedure.
The College recognises that the Chapel represents an important place in the hearts of its members, past and present, and wishes to make it more available for marriage ceremonies and blessings. However in order to accommodate ceremonies in Chapel, College will no longer be able to offer to hold post-ceremony receptions. We are happy to advise on local hotels and function rooms, but please confirm the date of your wedding with the Development Office before booking your reception venue: firstname.lastname@example.org.
