We have recently upgraded the Lincoln Online Directory system with some exciting new features. The upgrade includes not only a general improvement of the interface and usability of the site, but also adds a global alumni map and a new Lincoln eMentoring Platform.
The addition of the eMentoring platform is one that we see as particularly exciting. This will allow current Lincoln students or young alumni to be mentored via the system by Old Members who are more experienced in their chosen career and would like to donate some of their time to guiding and advising the next generation. As a mentor you can offer everything from simply answering email questions to work placements or work shadowing. You can give as much or as little as you have time to offer.
In order to become a mentor, please log in to your Lincoln Online Directory account and click on the tab to the right of your profile picture that says ‘mentor’. A short mentoring agreement will pop up. Once you have agreed to this you will be able to click the mentoring button from ‘no’ to yes’ to enable mentoring. You will need to fully update your new mentoring profile with details about your skills and career experience, as well as select the mentoring services you are able to offer, so that prospective mentees can find the right mentor!
We already have over 80 Lincoln alumni signed up to be mentors and we hope that as a current Lincoln Directory user you will be keen to join the expanding group of Lincoln Mentors!
