Thanks to a generous donation from the Lauffer Family Foundation, we have been able to take the first steps towards electronically cataloguing (on SOLO) the whole of the Senior Library collection. In keeping with our academic purpose and charitable status, we want to provide greater access to a collection that until now has remained relatively unknown. By providing detailed records, which give copy-specific information, such as annotations, provenance information and bindings, we hope to give researchers maximum opportunity to make connections between works and to expand scholarly understanding of Book History and the History of Scholarship, as well as to make use of the information within the texts themselves. Work has already begun on the Hebrew books, thanks to the JS Cohen Foundation.
We will be sharing some of our exciting discoveries on this page, regularly adding new titles that will illustrate different aspects of the Senior Library collection.
