This is the younger of our access initiatives, launched in 2009. However, it is developing quickly and we offer a number of opportunities to non-selective state schools in Bristol, Bath and North-East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The last few years have seen the growth of academy groups and other partnerships among West of England schools. Where possible, we encourage partnerships to work together on HE preparation.
Events and opportunities on offer include:
Lincoln Taster Days (Year 10)
An series of introductory day visits to Oxford for Year 10 students. For more information, please see the Lincoln Taster Days page.
Visits to Lincoln College (Year 12)
More information on opportunities to bring Year 12 groups to Oxford can be found on the visiting Lincoln College page.
Sessions at schools and colleges (Year 12)
The Schools Liaison Officer can often visit schools and colleges to speak to groups of highly-qualified students about life at Oxford and the applications process. There is generally a minimum group size of 20, to make the best use of the limited time available; there is no maximum. Schools and colleges are very much encouraged to make use of their partnerships where possible; the more schools are involved in a visit, the better we can make our provision!
Application Workshops (Year 13)
The Schools Liaison Officer can also give more specialised talks on the application process to those who are about to apply. Again, we encourage schools and colleges to work together wherever possible in arranging visits.
We sometimes supplement these regular events with more specialised schemes based in Oxford. More information about these will appear in this section.
Get in touch…
We keep a mailing list of staff contacts in West of England schools and colleges, so that we can keep them informed of our own provision for applicants, and other opportunities to work with Oxford. If you would like to be added to our list, please let us know! Email email@example.com
