For students in Year 10
We will be running these for state schools in our link areas (Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Northeast Lincolnshire, Bristol, North Somerset, Bath and Northeast Somerset, and South Gloucestershire) through the 2014-15 academic year. They offer an opportunity for more able students in Year 10 to visit Oxford and to find out more about what studying at the University is really like. We also consider what they can do now to give themselves the best possible choice of courses in the future. The day-long programme includes:
- A talk on Higher Education and Oxford
- A tour of Exeter with current undergraduates
- Lunch in the College’s Dining Hall (with the exception of one of the dates)
- An academic-themed session, run by one of our postgraduate students or staff at a University Collection
- An opportunity to explore the wider city and University
Places are limited to 10 students and 2 teachers per school, with two or three schools attending each event. The application form may be found here. We regret that are not able to provide overnight accommodation. For more information, please refer to the FAQs or contact the our Schools Liaison Officer on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Available dates for 2015 are:
- Friday 13 March 2015 (no lunch)
- Tuesday 5 May 2015
- Tuesday 12 May 2015
- Tuesday 16 June 2015
The deadline for the May and June dates is March 13th 2015, at which point we will assign places to schools. If any of the dates are oversubscribed we may prioritise schools which have not been before. After the deadline remaining places will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is no deadline for the March 13th event, and places will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. Unfortunately, we are also not able to provide lunch on that day, so you will need to make your own arrangements within the given time slot.
