Can I get married in the Lincoln Chapel?
Yes! Lincoln College Chapel may be used for the weddings of alumni in accordance with the rules of the Special Licence, granted at the Archbishop of Canterbury's discretion; the Chaplain can offer guidance on these.
A licence is normally granted if you are a current student, a former student, or a member of staff (teaching or non-teaching) in the College. There must be an existing or continuous relationship with the College.
If you would like to explore this further, please contact the Development Office in the first instance to discuss dates and procedures.
The College recognises that the Chapel represents an important place in the hearts of its members, past and present, and wishes to make it more available for marriage ceremonies and blessings. However, in order to accommodate ceremonies in Chapel, the College will no longer be able to offer to hold post-ceremony receptions. We are happy to advise on local hotels and function rooms, but please confirm the date of your wedding with the Development Office before booking your reception venue.
