Lincoln College

Arrival date

Undergraduate freshers should arrive on Tuesday 8th October 2019. Freshers travelling from abroad may come into residence earlier (between Saturday 5th October and Monday 7th October): please indicate on the online form when you plan to arrive.

Getting here

The University website has some useful maps of the city and colleges to help you plan your journey.

Car parking in Oxford is notoriously difficult and there is no parking on the Lincoln College site. However, you can collect permit from the Porters' Lodge to allow you to park in Turl Street for thirty minutes in order to unload. You must move your car when this time is up or you will get a parking ticket. Information about car parks in Oxford can be found here.

Finding your room

You will be able to collect the keys to your room and your access fob from the Porters' Lodge from 9 am.  Second and third year students will be on hand to help with your things and offer directions, and your college parents will be keen to to help out too.

Registration is absolutely vital: you can't attend lectures or tutorials, or receive your Student Loan until you've registered. We email you a timeslot between 1 pm and 5 pm to complete your registration in the Oakeshott Room. If you have any difficulty attending at your allotted time please email the Academic Administrators and we will find an alternative. You cannot be registered unless you have

  • signed your accommodation contract (you'll be sent instructions about how to do this online);
  • completed the first part of youRegistration online. You'll be emailed your login details (Single Sign On) for Student Self Service once your signed University Card Form has been received and processed;
  • brought your passport and BRP for copying (international non-EU students only)

You'll also receive your University card, which is essential for doing just about anything in Oxford, and your all-important Freshers' pack.

Freshers Dinner

In the evening, the freshers will meet the JCR committee, followed by a formal dinner in Hall with the Rector and Fellows (suit and tie, cocktail dress, or equivalent). Please let us know about any dietary requirements in the online form.
