The Road to 2027

The aim of the Road to 2027 Campaign is to prepare the way for the celebration of the College’s 600th anniversary in 2027 through engagement with our alumni and support for areas of priority. With the generous support of its alumni, friends, and institutional donors, Lincoln has already achieved an enormous amount, but there is still more to do as we look ahead to the next 600 years.

The Road to 2027 Campaign is intended to build on our successful record of philanthropic generosity and to support the areas, both current and historic, that need it the most. That way, the celebrations for Lincoln’s 600th centenary can concentrate on what we do best: providing excellent teaching, producing cutting-edge research, and ensuring that the College’s life as a community continues to flourish.

Our People: The Tutorial System and Students

Tutorials remain at the heart of our undergraduate teaching; they are an extremely effective way of educating students, but they are expensive. We need to secure our Fellowships to make sure that future generations of undergraduates benefit from this unique way of teaching.

We are also committed to supporting our students financially so that they can enjoy living in Oxford and taking part in the College’s and the University’s academic and non-academic activities. Our access and outreach work builds relationships with schools, while our bursaries and grants help undergraduates when they get to Lincoln. Graduate courses, especially at Master's level, are expensive and, in many cases, poorly funded externally; we need to make sure that Lincoln can continue to attract and support the best graduate students irrespective of their own financial background.

Our Places

As well as increasing the number of College buildings, we have been able to develop and improve them. The NatWest building has recently been renovated and and, thanks to the generosity of alumni, we have finished the renovations to the Mitre. Alumni are invited to book rooms over the summer. There are still rooms available for naming in perpetuity, and you can find out more here.

In addition, the Lincoln Unlocked programme will help make our collections – books, manuscripts, archives, pictures, silver, and so on – more accessible to our members, as well as to the general public.

If you would like to work with the College on supporting one of our Campaign priorities, please contact the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, Susan Harrison, or, if you are based in North America, please contact our Deputy Director of Development, Jane Mitchell. They will be delighted to discuss opportunities for collaboration in support of the Road to 2027 Campaign. For all other enquiries, please contact the Development Office.
